Wizards

Wizards 708Issue #708 (1983)

AD&D; Role Aids
For sheer power, orginality and cunning, no other group approaches Wizards. Collected here are original articles written by the creators of some of the most famous magicians in history.

In addition, four of early literature's most spectacular conjurors are presented in detail. Fantasy modules then provide the unique opportunity for gamers to join on a perilous quest with their favourite magic user:

  • Lythande of the Thieves' World by Marion Zimmer Bradley
  • Aahz and Skeeve from the Myth series by Robert Lynn Asprin
  • S. Carolinus from The Dragon and the George by Gordon R. Dickson
  • Shadowjack from Jack of Shadows by Roger Zelazny

Plus: Merlin of King Arthur's Court Circe, the Sorceress of Odysseus and Gilgamesh, the first of the great Sorcerers.

Each wizard is given a full work-up detailing his (her) powers, magic items and abilities. Also included are unique monsters, artifacts and civilizations that spring from the wizard's world. Adaptable to just about any game system or campaign setting.

Heroes of Olympus
by TFG (Task Force Games)

Heros of OlympusNow you can relive the adventures of the Argonauts! You, as Hercules, can slay the hydra! You, as Jason, can brave the crashing rocks with battered ship and crew! You, as the sorceress Medea, can tempt a Hero's heart! But be careful not to incur the wrath of the gods."

Heroes of Olympus by TFG (Task Force Games) in Amarillo Texas from 1982 is a Fantasy Role Playing game, as well as a stand-alone board game with solitaire rules and scenarios and scenarios and rules for 2 players. Created by veteran game-designer B. Dennis Sustaire, it recreates mythical Greece. The game system covers gods, humans, parentage, melee and noble combat, trickery, navigation and naval combat and campaign rules. Complexity is moderate and game time ranges from two hours for board-game scenarios to several evenings for campaign play.

Also included is a booklet describing how to combine Heroes of Olympus with the popular RPG "Thieves World" (a copy of a "Different Worlds" magazine article providing Heroes of Olympus data for Chaosim's "Thieves World" rpg supplement).
